Connection with Society and Nature
We humans are inherently social beings. Our ability to feel connected—to others, to nature, to ourselves—plays a profound role in our health, resilience and recovery.
The ability to build and maintain healthy relationships – at home, work, and in the community – supports a sense of belonging, adds value to your life as well as the lives of others, and is important to developing resiliency and combating stress.
Developing and maintaining a connection to nature is just as important. Being in nature deepens our sense of belonging, calms our nervous system, and increases our capacity to engage with others.
